Traditional and Modern pairings

Always thought those stacked wood covers on the Kopa were absolutely gorgeous! Anyone know of some traditional folders that use stacked wood on their handles? Would love to see 'em...

Nice renegade! I'm super duper jealous. Extra large clip point with the native style handle? Heck yeah.

Thanks very much, ALLHSS! It feels like a fighter in the hand and always seems to get the oohs and ahhhhs from my friends.

Awesome knives, Alex! I have had a hankering for a good Gaucho knife for some time. Thanks for the view.

Hello!

Primble - great knives and excellent image! Love the mood you captured there!

Here's the pair that was with me today (as a backup to my "main" carry, a Khukuri, that was with me for a first test run in the woods) - Daniel Fairly Titanium Backpacker and Bear and Son Heritage series Lockback in Stag:

Woke up early to exercise, then meditation with smudging: California white sage, Northwest cedar, sweet grass - abalone shell and hawk feather. The Cadet assisted with cutting the leaves.

Then a pot of Dan Cong Phoenix Mountain tea (Kokopelli place mat).

Is the second blade on the Case coping? Pattern??? Whittler??? I think I've figured out my answer: Seahorse Whittler??? The shape of the small end fooled me, not as evenly rounded as my Gray Bone Seahorse.

Yessir, as you surmised, it's just another Case Seahorse Whittler.

Unless my eyes deceive me, that Uncle Henry looks like an 897UH with the Sheepsfoot blade broken off. I've got an 897UH whose Sheepsfoot broke off a little further out (3/16" of what is left overlapping the spey blade tip). Was just cutting and not making a sideways prying move at all. Really surprised me when it happened. Was some time before they sold out to Taylor Brands, but just never sent it in for repair or replacement.

I don't have many traditionals but this has been my combo off and on for the last week.

Your eyes are correct sir. I actually found this knife with the sheepsfoot blade already broken. I ran this knife over once and drug it around under the pickup head of a tymco 210 sweeper truck before eventually spotting it. Cleaned it up and put it in my rotation. It's definitely seen better days but it's still kicking.
