Traditional and Modern pairings

I posted this on Insta, where it can be viewed by non-knife people. You might find it amusing, or dead wrong.

Evolution in Pocket Knives: from slip joint to flipper (and if you don't accept evolution, let's just say transition). And all with Damascus blades, just to make it interesting.

On the right is a true traditional model, an Alan Davis custom slip joint with a Vegas forge carbon raindrop Damascus blade and Himalayan ram’s horn scales. In the middle is what might be called a modern traditional, a Benchmade Gold Class "Proper" slip joint with burgundy/black micarta scales, Mokume Gane bolsters, and a Damasteel blade. And on the left is a modern knife, the Civivi Elementum liner lock flipper, with Damascus blade and carbon fiber scales with gold flecks (and pocket clip, naturally).

What is the next stage of pocket knife evolution? Who knows?
