Those modern knives' construction looks familiar, I think I have a budget knife using it. I forgot, how does it called?
Is that an old pruner of some kind? Looks like it was used a lot!Who says pocket knife design has changed much?

What's the name of the red one? Very interesting and unusual. Both of these came my way via @SuperHowl: one as a gift, one as a trade. That guy gets me.
Like THAT pair, now I'm getting all interested in a Mnandi- nice compact Modern with aesthetics. One for beatin’ and one for keepin’.
The Sudbuster gets no special treatment, and keeps coming back for more. Not sure if the blade or the lifter gets more use
The Mnandi is the only knife I own that gets babied. It was made on the same exact day my youngest daughter was born… probably only a few hours later in fact. It still gets used regularly, but much less heavily than it could handle.
If you ask me, they make a great pair.

They are different variations of the Exo by Reate, but no idea what you'd call that lock type - "hinge lock" perhaps? Those modern knives' construction looks familiar, I think I have a budget knife using it. I forgot, how does it called?
Wow, just googled that model, it has even more unusual construction than I thought! Cool, thanks! Well, I guess that's a justified measure here really. They are different variations of the Exo by Reate, but no idea what you'd call that lock type - "hinge lock" perhaps?
Most folks just call them "gravity knives" and really, I suppose the lock type is the same as on a balisong: your hand.
I add a silicone band at the hinge end to keep them closed in my pocket -- tension is adjustable based on how far up I position the band. "Silicone-band lock"?![]()
