Traditional and Modern pairings

Buck 501 Squire with S30V blade and buckeye burlwood covers, paired with a Pioneer X. I don't know if either is fully traditional, but together they make a pretty good semi-traditional pairing.

That squire is kick ass. Traditional all the way in my book.

Beauties! I think they are both absolutely traditional. Aluminium is being used in manufacturing for more than a century.

I love that knife. I have another Squire on order with Magnacut blade and elk horn covers. I don't know if it can replace this one in my heart, but maybe I can find a place for both of them.

Even though lockbacks have been around for hundreds of years, I have a hard time calling them "traditional." In a lot of ways the Buck 110, despite its traditional styling, feels like the grandaddy of "modern" knives to me.
