- gorgeous looking slippie there, Kurt - fabulous Mammoth.! Is it an old one, just surprised by the flat-head screws...?
Thanks friend. It’s a new one made by North Mountain. They are discontinuing their slipjoint line. I’m pretty sure they’re made in China. But the company might be Japanese. These are mailed from California. The City Knife there has Nichols Damascus. They are also using Damasteel. My wild guess is on their knives like this the blades and mammoth are done here by someone skilled and the knife assembled. You can get this knife in bone with Japanese Magic SLD blades which is pretty much D2. I think those are made in China. They also use M390 on some. That blade on my City Knife is well done with the boomerangs pointing towards the knife tip. I’ve seen lesser care on other more acceptably produced knives. I find they are a great value. The most important take away is again I’m guessing based on what I’ve read on the interwebs. I also read their flippers are great.
