Traditional Argentine knife giveaway

We have a tradition of roasting corn on the cob for 4th of July. My wife's family gets together and we roast the corn on a big flat plate of steel and cover it with wet burlap bags.

The knife will be shipped after I get back from a little Easter trip on Monday or Tuesday.

My wife and I spend a good deal of time at wineries in the Finger Lakes area of upstate New York. It has become somewhat of a tradition with us to frequent a particular winery on Cayuga Lake and every August the throw a VIP party for it's wine club members-great food and wine, and beautiful scenery to boot.

Every year on the night before Deer hunting season starts there is a group of 4 of us who gather at my Brother inlaw house for a Chili supper with all the fixin's, Before the night is over everyone inspects each others knife and gun to see what everyone is using. This year will be our 20th year of hunting together.

When Spring hints that Winter may be over here in Vermont the days begin to warm though the night temps still drop below freezing. Vermont is the biggest producer of maple syrup although it is a little state.
When I was a kid we lived in town but always tapped the 5 or 6 sugar maples that bordered our property. We'd boil the sap down into syrup in big pans on the wood stove.
It takes about 20 gallons of sap to get 1 gallon of syrup.
On Easter morning after church we'd feast on pancakes with our own fresh maple syrup.

Thanks for the chance for what seems to be a very nice knife.

After a these stories about Don Ocha, we finally see what a gaucho knife looks like. lovely.
My family tradition is lighting a bonfire on the Jan 15 of every year. My dad would get 300 hundred pounds of cool and stack it high. As a child, iIt was the highlight of my year. I never really knew why we had the tradition. But it didn't really matter, because I just loved it so much. good time

God Bless

What the heck, I might as well throw our oddball tradition in there. I live in Liberal, Kansas, the U.S. home of the International Pancake Race. The tradition actually dates back over 500 years in Olney, England and spread to Liberal more than 50 years ago. If you have a few minutes to read, here is a little background piece: http://www.pancakeday.net/about.htm

One knife related tradition with many around here is if you take a shot at a Deer and miss, you get part of your shirt cut off.
One group of fellows I have hunted with for years has always, and still does this.

Thanks for the give away:thumbup:

Thanks for the giveaway!! I live in an area where a lot there is a lot of hispanic tradition, brujeria, curanderas and such... Here, if someone has a little baby, and you fuss over it, you have to touch it or it is supposed to become colicky... so most 'traditionals' will make the mark of the cross on the forehead.
