traditional edc knifes

I started out with traditional patterns in the '70s, re-ignited the interest in the '90s, and once more have become more interested than ever once more this past December. I now include either a new Case mini-trapper, or a pocketworn red bone stockman, or canoe pattern, both also from Case.

Along with whichever one of those I'm carrying, I also EDC a Victorinox Executive pen knife and a Victorinox Soldier. Although not in natural handle materials, I do consider these as traditional patterns, or variations thereof.

Although I still EDC my Sebenza, to be truthful, I could get by on most days with only the Executive and one of the Case slipjoints quite easily.

I guess I'm in the traditional camp. I only have a couple of "tactical" knives left, and neither gets much carry time. Frank

Good thread here.

Well, I'm squarely in the Tactical Camp but like most of us guys 40+ I have ties in the traditional camp and "cut" my teeth there. And frankly, most of what we all do could be done with a traditional blade. Those guys knew what they were doing when they made those blade shapes in the first place.

I've got a stag handled Eye Brand Copperhead that sometimes I just like to look at. It's what a knife is supposed to look like.

I only OWn "tactical" form knives, but I've had the hots for a Case Russlock for some time now. Once I spent a little time looking around, you start to see the beauty in them (I didn't grow up with knives, I caught the disease later). Welcome to the forums.

I just got a new "DUC" {dress up carry} a Buck 111. Its the 2007 BCCI members only club knife. Buck put out a new design sheth for this one .It has a angled top\\\ so you can see the bolsters,I cut off the flap so its now a open top that shows all the NS and 1/3" of the Elk...Looks purrty! I think its ok to show your carrying too. Bad guys will go on toeasier prey....

I plan on getting the top one for edc.

I used to carry a Buck Medium trapper. Now I have been buying Case Trappers. Past EDCs consisted of a Buck 110, Old Timers, Case slab side hunter.
