I bought a deejo once, but I took it back and exchanged it for something that wouldn't fit this thread at all.
Only in part because I couldn't relate to the guy in the commercial, and didn't think I'd stand much chance with his girlfriend.

That brut de forge on a laguiole is really nice looking!

Those yearning for a burly minded working-knife need look no further than here: quite smooth to open, strong to close, thick stock but ground thin, no hint of blade-play and very nice in use. Choice of scales, this one Broom (the shrub's wood) Genêt, je crois?

Here's my choice for a burly minded working-knife.

Truth be told, though I find the laguiole more than burly enough. Something like an older, carbon steel bladed David more than meets the requirements for a strong, inexpensive pocket tool.

Another "Laguiole en Aubrac". This 14 cm is called "Le Trappeur", scales are ciricote and the blade is made from "Brut de Forge"

Will Will Power , that Broom wood you posted is calling to me. Right size, 10.5cm I believe, reasonably priced and looks good. It looks more practical than the capuchadou I’ve been lusting over. For knife content, my trusty no. 8.

joeradza It's a hunky knife for not much cash Alan Finish is good enough but not intricate, thick blade that impresses and major comfort when using the knife. Thinking of seeing if they do a Juniper version as I'm addicted to the stuff, be great to get my sauna re-fitted with that fragrant wood but the cost
