Road Runner, you regretted sanding the ring flush -- what happened when you did so? Flying boomerang kukri knife?

Nothing so dramatic, it just isn't as comfortable as some of my newer khuks. Like you I was holding it with my ring and pinky fingers behind the ring. Now I grip them with just my pinky behind the ring, if the handle is long enough. I've got sort of big hands. With the more forward grip, my khuks balance better and the ring doesn't bother me because that part of my palm doesn't exert much pressure on the handle. My first index and middle fingers and the center of my palm provide most of the gripping power.
