Traditional Handle Materials - A Closer Look!

A great idea for a thread, I'm so impressed with the photography too. I could spend hours staring at these pictures! :)

Some macro shots. I certainly would not judge the quality of my knife based on all of these super close shots !

Knives were not made to be scrutinized so closely. ;):D

I'd like to see some of the Bark River Pine Cone covers if anyone has one to show.

Can't find my macro lens for the D90 but that mag-lite app is pretty cool. Here's some crummy cell pic additions to the thread...

I have a cheap macro lens thing that I held in front of my ipad for the bottom three shots.

This is the knife in all of the pictures:

That Cat with the contrast of the nice clean bone and the patina on the blades is my favorite so far. Great idea for a thread.

Nice views and cool idea for a thread!

The closest I got by now with my camera was on these rosewoods.

Here's a couple I did for a more practical purpose.

This one compares bone to Delrin for identification purposes.

Showing the cause of weak or no snap, this one shows what worn tangs look like.

Primble, it's a good thing you had the foresight to take some macro shots before ol' Haskew stole it from ya. :D

+ 5K! :D:D

It might not be foresight, though, if I think about it. There are rumors that Primble has access to a time machine that allows him to go back in time to find some of the lovely, pristine knives with which he astounds us here on a regular basis! It would not be surprising if he could use the same machine to travel into the future, and he may have "seen" (not technically "foresight") that the horrid Haskew would brew up some trouble. With that in mind, Primble may have taken the macro shots to use in future legal proceedings. (I'm very grateful to Primble that he did NOT try to avoid the act of theft, and in doing so risk changing history in possibly disastrous ways for the rest of Earth's inhabitants; I appreciate his self-sacrificial nature!)
