Yesterday, my friend Dave came by...along with a bag of old knives from years gone by.
We looked at them and reminisced...and then he gave me some of them!
I gave him the knife from "Cheap Knife Woods Day":
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ds-Day!-Featuring-other-knives-too-and-a-toad!!!
And a nice leather sheath for his old Imperial Boy Scout knife.
Close up of the boat knife, with cork handle so it will float in the water:
And a really old, really beat up knife made in Sheffield, England:
But the big old Monarch knife was the one that really grabbed my attention.
I sharpened it up, cleaned more of the rust off with steel wool and Tuf-Glide, and headed out today.
It fits easily into the watch pocket of my pants.
And looks good with coffee:
Here's where the city knocked down a bunch of trees for no good reason:
And someone forgot to tell this knife that slip-joints cannot stab things.
