I don't remember seeing a thread such as this.

For the past year my interest in knives has focused on those made outside of the USA. I thought I would post what I have to date. I would be interested in seeing what you all have and info on where they are from.

Most of mine are German, with some Swiss. I used to own a couple of English made, but gifted them away. OH

Brett, great idea for a thread! I'm really enjoying everyone's posts.

Harry, I like that Eddie Bauer SAK. Is that one made by Wenger?

I don't have anything all that interesting (Opinels from France, SAKs, Japanese Higo, etc.), but I'll have to take a few photos to contribute here.

I have quite a few German knives, but this vintage Carl Schlieper, gifted to me by Duncan, is certainly one of my favourites :)

The Opinel needs no introduction, but the Higonokami from Japan needs more notice. A fantastic slicer that takes a wicked edge in a very rugged package. And the Resolza from Sardinia is a great one. Nice flat blade geometry and beauty in a time tested pocket sized package.

Italian Zuava, from Northern Italy. Feels wonderful in hand. The better half has confiscated this one as her 'purse" knife. :(

Nothing fancy, just a lineup of carbon Opinels (No. 5 through No. 9).

Just grabbed a couple out of the SAK drawer.

Higonokami and a little folder that belonged to my grandpa (unfortunately one of the internal springs is broken, so half of the blades just fall out loosely).

A couple super-cheapies I've had floating around the bottom of a dresser drawer for years. I've used the folder for sharpening practice (if you snap it closed the blade raps the backspring worse than I've ever seen on any knife).
