Traditional knives with Damascus blades

This thread has got me thinking that I might want to look for a Damascus knife since I don't own any. I doubt if I would use it though.

Have any of you folks ever tried an application of Renaissance Wax on a Damascus blade for protection during storage? If so, does it buff off of the Damascus surface as easily as it buffs off of 1095 or CV carbon steel?

Here's my Case with the raindrop damascus in amber bone they offered a few years ago - a Saddlehorn. (I did some dying of the scales so it doesn't look like Case amber bone anymore...)

 
Reviving this thread because it has such potential. I know some of you out there have some real stunners in this category.

hamsco's knife is a Tapadero model with camel bone handle. About 7" oal with 2.75" blade that is 9/16" tall (all measurements approx as each is an individual) They are high carbon damascus at 60 RC with heat treat done by Peters. Comes with the Slotted sheath as pictured standard but a Horizontal crossdraw sheath is optional on this model. Gevonovich Gevonovich . Thanks Will Power Will Power
