Traditional mug shots

Great pic, Paul! He is growing quick!

Tell me about it! We spent the weekend at the Hebridean Celtic festival which happens every year in Lews Castle grounds in Stornoway. Rory attended the day sessions but was looked after by Granny in the evenings. He wasn't too impressed with this band;

The local police and firefighters were having an event today so we stopped by with Noah to see some trucks. Trucks are his new favorite thing. We can't walk through a parking lot without him pointing out every single one.

We saw the SWAT van

Then we went inside the mall where he rode a carousel for the first time

Paul and Phil, wonderful photos of those two young men! Enjoy these type moments, before you realize it you will turn around and they will be 32!

The first 20 years are the most difficult:o;)
Philll I love the merry go round pic-what joy.
Paul-do not despair-there's only so much bodhran and fiddle music a person can listen to before painting their face blue and reiving the borderlands.:D

I tried to tell my son that it was too hot to go for a hike but he couldn't hear me........ his clothes were too loud.

I assume he has a flagman with a warning sign walking 10 feet ahead to warn those who might come across him unexpectedly? Good thing it's not Monday morning yet.

One thing for sure, you will be able to spot him in the woods. It's like having a knife with an international orange handle.

Very true, besides Mel hadn't done his speech yet...

It was a great festival: three highlights for me were a band called Whisky Kiss from Scotland, Rusty Shackle from Wales and Hayseed Dixie from o'er water. I was glad to see Hayseed Dixie as I missed them when they played here a few years ago, they were great craic, if you've not heard of em you should YouTube them :)

Thanks Randy. No, it is an Opinel Junior No.7. Here is a link from a BFC Dealer with specs. It's a great first knife because it locks and has a rounded point. He has big boy knives now, but he still likes to hike with this one. I think it's because of the graphics and it makes great fuzz sticks. :)

Great first knife!:thumb up:

As he grows into it, you can always make it into a spear point with a little careful work.

I was there too! Brought my kiddos there yesterday. John was loving the trucks, but Emilia kept saying "Papa, it's too hot!", so we didn't hang out there for too long. We the went inside and I took them for a ride on the carousel(which is impossible to pass by without incessant demands from the children).

Did you see the bayflight chopper in the parking lot? That thing was huge!

Thanks for the link Daniel I have a 6 year old granddaughter that's been wanting a knife like one of Papaw's and I just ordered her one with her name engraved on it. I think she'll love it as she is also a big fan of animals.

Glad to help and I hope that she enjoys it.

Spent the weekend with friend and ABS Master Smith, Jon Christensen and his wife Brenda. We enjoyed the state championship BBQ contest and pounded out some DHIII W2 for a chef's knife. Brenda made us an incredible breakfast on Sunday, as we were up early forging. I always enjoy my time there and using the power hammer is a lot of fun. I am in the process of obtaining one for myself, going to start making my own damascus.

^^^^^MT, looks like you had a lot of fun. I mean, who wouldn't have fun with w2 and a power hammer?! ^^^^^
I don't think I ever posted my ugly mug in here.
