traditional slip vs. SAK vs. multi-tool ???

For all of the SAKs, tacticool folders and multitools I have had, I think I found my folder. A Remington scout knife reproduction from Camillus, circa 80's.

Camillus made some great ones. Here's my dream Camillus scout pattern. The #C4 Camp/Utility from the Cartridge Series. Great main spear blade, wood saw, true philips driver, cap lifter and flathead driver, a coping blade and a bail. Just remove the scallops from the coping blade and you've got a serious EDC slipjoint in your hands.

A slip joint is not all that heavy but things add up and it just a item that I have no need to duplicate. The SAK will flat out do many things that a plain slippie won't do. I just don't find them as useful as a SAK.

All 3 are fine but for me an SAK wins out. MTs are heavy and it's rare that I need pliers and their all steel handles can get slippery. A traditional slip is fine but few are as tough or as useful as my Vic Soldier or Farmer.

i recently got a leatherman charge to replace my long carried vic huntsman. i got the charge because it has a pocket clip for ease of carry. i hate belt sheaths. i tried carrying it in my pocket but found that annoying so i moved it to inside the waistband. it unfortunately is not very corrosion resistant so i forsee going back to the sak.

the pliers are nice but realistically i probably don't need them.
