Traditional Slipjoint GAW

I would like to try one out.

As long as an old SAK and an Opinel don't count I've never owned a traditional. Been looking into it though, and the hawkbill looks very useful. Thanks for the opportunity!

I have owned a Case Peanut (yellow derlin, Stainless), but recently gifted it to my grandfather who was bemoaning the fact that all pocket knives had clips (he had sharpened his case into a toothpick over about 60 years, and needed a replacement).

I also own an Ontario Cub Scout knife.

So, if the scout knife doesn't disqualify me, I'd love to try one out. I've never seen/handled/owned anything like the knife being given away (unless SAK's or the scout knife counts).

And if I'm disqualified, I still must say that its an excellent GAW :).

Even though SAK's and Opinel's are sometimes considered traditional, I will allow these to be entries as they are in a unique classification.

The voice of experience??
;););):D:p:p

Traditionals? Yes. Drugs? No. Love the Mitch Hedberg quote too. I started laughing a few weeks ago when I saw some tape on a broken escalator and had to explain to my fiancé why. I mean come on, do we really need to block it off? Just call it stairs.

I agree. Opi's, SAKs, higonokamis, etc. may be traditional, but it's a different tradition.

I would love a true traditional, just started getting interested because of the forum, I'm sure that's a common gateway into the traditional patterns disease. I wasn't going to post because I do own Opinels and a few SAKS, but if we're excluding those I'm in, I owned a Chinese Schrade Muskrat long ago and it was my first real traditional "pattern?" knife. Thank you for the chance

I'd love to try one out. I've only gotten a handful of posts, and keep wandering into the traditional subforum, unaware, then posting irrelevant stuff about noon noon traditionally. Maybe it's a sign =)

But id love to try one out.

I am in! I have been wanting to get a traditional to expand my collection. Thanks for the chance!

Not an entry.

I have already fallen into the traditional well. But what an awesome GAW. You're really going to dump some poor sap, I mean lucky winner, right in the deep end with that knife.

It reminds me of a pusher, "first one's free..." ;)

Very generous. Kudos.

Bob - I never heard of a Traditional knife :D What does one look like? :D
This is for obvious reasons not an entry. Bob, my friend, you are Good as Gold :)

I've got plenty of slip joints, so not an entry. I recently got one of these from a BF member. Man, what a cool and classy knife. The main blade and be pinched open and the handle is a very nice size for most work.

Cool GA.

I'm in if I qualify. I've been looking at trads for a little bit now but I really don't know enough about them, my interest comes from this rusty Winchester I found in WV on a hike. So I'd love to be able to replace it with that beauty.

Been thinking about this one for a bit. I'm going to allow this as an entry.
