traditional trappers for hunting

I originally asked because I was curious if anyone ever had a problem with a blade closing during usage. Anyone?

I've used a 4" stockman for rabbits, squirrels, birds even an occasional trout, I've never had a problem with it closing.
For anything more than field dressing a deer I'll use a fixed blade. Good reason to get another knife:)

Trappers and stockman work well hunting. These 2 have been used for more than just squirrels.

Nice Model 12!

I've used slipjoints plenty for small game and fish but they're not my first choice. Never had a problem closing on me, though. Keep the blades sharp and remember you're cutting and slicing, not chopping or prying. You get good with it you'll be tempted to get careless, but resist it. It'll do everything you want.
