Traditional USA-made production in 2022

You just talked me into putting you on the list. :)

Great effort, Tyson!! A useful list!!
Thanks! I saw a comment somewhere to the effect that 'Case and GEC are the only remaining American traditional knife production companies" and I thought that wasn't quite right. So I thought I'd start a list. It's been fun - I learned some things putting the original list together, and I've learned more from the comments. I'm glad it's useful to someone else.

Hess, although I am not sure if they still exist
Quick scan and they don't seem to have a website and are out of stock at a lot of places. If there's more info that they're still in production I'll add them, but I'm not convinced that they are still in business.

[*]Utica - traditional folders, sold as Kutmaster and Utica, and make knives for Klein Tool
[/LIST]

Utica still makes some stuff in the US I think, but they are no longer making the Klein electricians knives. I found out the hard way when I ordered a new one and they are now made in China. I emailed Klein to ask them about it and they verified that all new ones were made in China now 😞 They are no longer carbon steel either, both blades are stainless

That makes me sad. The Klein branded ones, while still pretty rough, seemed a notch better than the Kutmasters.

What are Daniels actually making themselves? I thought they'd gone into abeyance after the closing down/debacle of Queen Cutlery (as we remember it...) ?

Right, i had seen something of a post of new Daniels family knives and had remarked on another thread that the tang stamp does mention Titusville. I was unsure if there was another outfit still there.

Yep. I could have sworn that all the tooling for Schatt & Morgans had been bought by someone else, who was trying to get the Queen and S&M brands back up and running?

Last I knew of the Daniels, the wife (I'm blanking on her name) was selling knives and unfinished parts from the factory on her Ebay store. I have purchased several knives from her over the past few years.

Gilbert Cooper, owner of Cooper Cutlery, bought all the machinery and tooling from the Queen factory, and I believe own the Schatt & Morgan brand (see the Weed & Co knife debacle thread). SMKW owns the Queen name I think.

Thank you for rattling my memory cage!! Yes, you're completely correct. I recall now when SMKW brought out those "pre (or first) production" Queen knives. Their price point made their origin point fairly obvious. :/

How about American Outdoor Brands, who are making Old Timers in the USA with 1095 blades. Haven't handled one, but their website claims US manufacture.

I didn't post their website URL because I don't believe they are BF supporters.

EDIT: They are branded "OLD TIMER," not Schrade. And it looks like only their bone handled Old Timers are US made.

EDIT2: Haven't found proof of who actually makes the US Old Timer knives, whether AOB or another US manufacturer.

thats right, the last of the lunch room specials. their parts knives are sadly not as amusing as Rendezvous SFAs

Has anybody actually seen one of these? I was under the impression that there was some marketing buzz, but the US made ones didn't seem to be around. If these are for real, I'll add them to the list.

Doesn't the Daniels Family Brands still put Tuna Valley knives out? I think they have some individual maker put together a batch, and that's probably close enough to production to still qualify for this list. If I'm wrong about that, I'll take them off the list.

I thought these were made for them by Bear and Sons, but I could be mistaken.
