Traditional "Watch Pocket" knives

I carry my Victorinox Executive cliped to a Lummi WEE. Perfect fit for an awsome pocket. I wear jeans everyday and they must have a watch pocket! If not, good buy, good night!

Wear wranglers every day. Picked the stitching out of the the bottom back 2" or so of the watch pocket. Can carry pretty much anything in a clip equipped folder quit securely and reasonably discreetly that way. Emerson's , David Mosier folders - whatever.
Have recently tended towards smaller knives - partly for reasons of social impact ( or lack of) - last few months it's been a G&G Hawk MUDD (3" blade). Great tough small knife - their gripclip is a real inovation.

Sorry gents.
I wear jeans pretty much every day, black for work, blue for home.
But, I carry a pocket watch in my watch pocket.

Traditional Pocket Watch

Does Westclox still make the $5 wind up pocket watch?
The one that you can put thru the laundry by mistake and it still works.

Wade, my Carhartt jeans' watch pockets are noticeably less commodious than those of my Levi's or other jeans.

I have worn Carhartts for years, their relaxed fit are just comfortable. I suppose I could test drive a pair of Levi's. I just find that unless the knife will sit horizontally in the pocket it pokes me when I sit down, this is why I have always gone with smaller knives in that pocket.

I haven't worn a belt sheath since I was a teenager and they were common for high school kids to carry Buck 110's in at school. I am leaning back towards the one I have talked about in other threads from D.M. Bullard Leather. It will easily hold my purty larger stockmans and such. These knives, primarily from Bulldog and Fight'n Rooster, have celluloid scales and are quite colorful so despite their size they are still PC. If they will fit in the watch pocket of a pair of Levi's even better.

Hi,

I'm envious of you guys who can carry a knife in your watch pocket. There seems to be some really pretty slippies that are ready made for the pocket.

Sadly as a lefty, watch pockets seem to only be found on the right hand side. :grumpy: And since that seems to be the case, I tend to clip my pager to it anyway.

I carry my Victorinox huntsman in there, most of the time. I either have my Ritter mini Grip or Strider PT in the main pocket.

The watch pocket is my favorite way to carry a slipjoint. I won't buy a pair of pants unless they have a good watch pocket. I usually have something or other in there- the best fit I've found so far for the watch pocket is the Case Swayback Jack, with the GEC #25s coming in close. But I can usually fit anything up to a medium stockman in there, so all sorts of friends ride in that pocket from time to time.

I carry my Tidioute 2-blade scout in my watch pocket. It's the exact perfect size. I put the wider end down, and then the top is JUST the right size to be tilted so it catches under the rivet. It locks in really secure.

The baby sunfish is a particular favoite for such carry and my Victorinox Cadet II.

Ya know I tried doing that and they ended up in the washer which goofed them up pretty good. So I stick to the bottom of my left pocket

You might want to try going right handed for a while;)

(emphasis mine) That's exactly the piece I carry most days. I carry an old Radio Shack digital recorder, and it and the knife sit upright. The watchpocket is perfectly suited for those two. My Case large Stockman fits very well in that pocket too.

For larger cutting jobs, I'll get out the Case Folding Hunter.

thx - cpr

I used to carry my Buck 373 medium stockman in my watch pocket. Not so much anymore. However, when I choose to carry a little folder there- I usually go with that Buck,.

The thing about watch-pockets is access,it's easy to get the knife without burrowing, and deeper pockets can get holes....I never carry a knife with coins or keys though.

GEC No.25 Barlow gets in there although it's a tubby stout customer! Slim knives such as CASE Mini Copperlock or the 2008 Forum knife get in there, sometimes you can get a Slimline Trapper in there too!

I have only two pairs of jeans right now. I need to go shopping. But I have to wait for my scooter to be fixed. Anyways, One has a nice watch pocket that will nicely fit a 3 3/4" Copperhead or simaler. The other, Rough Rider, is narrow, but deep. I don't like that as much.

And I can just about wear what I want cause I do not work. Around the house it is normally sweat pants. Going out either sweats or jeans.

I've been carrying small slipjoints in my Jeans watch pocket for years. I find it more comfortable than the "across the thigh" feel of carrying in the regular pocket. My new job of the past few months requires "business casual" attire, but I find that many Khaki pants have a small interior pocket in pocket that works okay, but I still prefer watch pocket carry when possible;)
