My Gold membership has expired, and since I'm on hiatus for the foreseeable future, I'm planning to only have a Basic membership for now. These are no longer for sale.
I'll be off the forums for quite a while, and before I go, I'm putting the bulk of my collection up for sale or trade. It's kind of a "zen" thing right now - too many distractions in life, too many worldly possessions that I'm just not using... may as well clear some space.
Whatever doesn't sell will become my permanent collection. I'm open to trades, mostly GEC/Northfield/Tidioute patterns in acrylic scales, but other makes/models might be considered. I'm willing to entertain offers, but NO LOW-BALLERS. I'm busy, but I've got a little time to get these on the way to legitimate buyers. These are priced very reasonably, in my opinion. I've been given some great deals on many of these, so I'm passing those deals on here.
Standard sales rules apply:
- These will ship the first business day after payment is received
- First I'll take it here gets it, and ya'll know the drill. (Any other communications need to be PM'd or emailed to me through my profile.)
- PayPal preferred; USPS money orders okay too. USPS Priority Shipping (unless otherwise noted) and PayPal fees included in the price. PM for my PayPal info.
- Shipping to the U.S. 50 states & Guam only.
- By buying any knife from me, buyer states they are 18 or older, and buyer is responsible for knowing & following the laws regarding ownership of this knife in your area.
Camillus #23 Jumbo Jack, withdrawn Re-scaled by a member here on BF. Carried but used very little; no box. 4-1/8" closed, 3" main spear blade and 2-1/4" pen blade. Half-stops and great snap on both blades. These were released by Camillus back in the 70's or 80's, and were scaled with white Delrin or some other synthetic material. This one was re-scaled in jigged red bone by a member here, and he did a wonderful job. Very hefty, chunky knife, and the handle fits your hand really well when you're wearing gloves.
Camillus lockbacks; #1066 and #1068 both withdrawn - I have to call these "UIB" - "unused in the box", because while I've never used either one, they've been sitting with my other Scout knives. Jigged brown (actually, more of a red shade) scales on both. There is scuffing on the bolsters of the #1066, and the #1068 looks almost new, as it's been stored in a ziplock baggie since I got it. I bought these from our local Scout shop right after the Camillus closure in 2007, and I figured I'd never get rid of them. The #1066 is the single-blade lockback, and it locks up solidly with no play in any direction. The #1068 is the double-lockback; the main blade has a little side-to-side play if you really try to move it, otherwise it locks up solidly. The secondary blade is the saw. When I bought this one, the saw blade had significant side-to-side play, and I later sent it to Phil Gibbs (formerly of Camillus, now with A.G. Russell) and he was able to remove a lot of the sideplay in the saw. There's still a little side-to-side wiggle, but not enough to affect the function of it. The saw closes a little slowly, but I figured that's an okay tradeoff to eliminate the side play. *Phil noted that this #1068 [and maybe the #1066] was probably a 'factory second', but overall it looks and functions fine.
Remington #R1123, withdrawn New and unused (by me), no box. Made by Camillus for Bowen Mfg. I acquired this one because I love the flush joints; the blade tangs are flush with the end of the pivot-end bolster in all three positions: open, half-stop, and closed.
Here's a thread on this one (with pics) that covers the details on it: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1065389-Did-Camillus-make-this-Remington-Trapper
Case #4138SS large Sodbuster, withdrawn Blue delrin scales, carried & used, good snap on the blade, some (very minor) sideplay, a squeeze in a padded vise would fix it.
Case #62132SS Baby Butterbean, withdrawn Almost new, unused by me, handling scuffs, good snap on both blades.
Case Gunboat, withdrawn Unused as far as I can tell, but carried a few times. Case "Tru-Sharp" stainless blades, I think I have the box.
Case "Cigar" Whittler, withdrawn NIB, just acquired this one here on the forum, I won't be disappointed if it doesn't sell. Made by Queen in 1990, carbon steel blades, very strong springs.
