Traditionals you would like to see made

This is my own wish list for traditional knives I would like to see manufactured, or changes I wish were made to those currently in production. Perhaps you also have such a list you would like to share. Maybe some of the manufacturers will get wind of our wishes ;-)

For me:

1. Schrade to be American made again.
2. A 3-7/8" Buck trapper based on the 300 series.
3. Case Tru-Sharp hardened similar to Buck's 420HC.
4. A lockback version of the Case Sodbuster for those of us that think that is a good idea

I would like to see something with a spear and wharncliffe either serpentine jack or equal end 3"-3 7/8" closed both blades full sized.

rdrogers, there are a couple nice options available today, in a camp/scout pattern. AG Russell and Queen/S&M, for example, both have a nice quality scout.

I'd like to see somebody in the US produce a 4.125" lockback whittler, with a long spear main (nice cut swedges and a long pull, of course), and a wharncliffe and a coping blade at the other end (with 'regular' nicks). Making sure to keep the main blade as long as can possibly fit in the frame, as well. *thump thump-thump*

Boy

A Barlow (or any traditional) with a screw pivot you could tighten. Pin construction otherwise of course.

A Barlow (or any traditional) with a good carbon steel main blade and a very hard small blade for scraping etc.

but realistically

Do you think Rough Riders will ever come out with carbon steel blades as promised?

Case 92 stockman again!!
Case 4 inch closed sodbuster in cv!!
Case 3 7/8 inch trapper cv!!
Case 4 inch 4 blade stockman!!
Case 47 pattern with two springs and a muskrat blade instead of clip!!

A 3 1/4 inch peanut for those with bigger hands.

A shadow peanut with old Sheffield style stag. Lot's of popcorn.

Maybe a bail added to the peanut for mounting on an old fashioned watch chain.

And more CV choices.

I like where your going with this with I'd love to see some carbon blades from rough rider, and traditionals with a pivot so I can fully disassemble them so I can clean it better. I'd also love to see a Canoe with the small pen blade replaced with a wharncliffe.

I think the sodbuster and trapper ideas for Case sound great. They would be a must have for me.

Buck 500 series knives with FLAT GROUND blades.

A modernized scout with Derlin scales (scissors, file scraper blade)

I'm really dreaming for one of the modern makers to make something along the lines of the schrade 93ot wrangler. Namely, a two blade jack knife on a 3.5" stockman frame with a clip main and a sheepsfoot secondary.

Serpentine jack spear main with a long matchstrike pull and bottle opener secondary. Peachseed jigged bone and an EO notch would be nice.

Buck 300 series in better steel, and with the older style flat ground blades, rather than the hollow grin they use now. I'm content with 420HC, but it's sorta lackluster, when this company has access to, and uses many, great steels. Even their 12C27 and 13C26 is very nice, not to mention 154CM, or S30V, as long as it bears the Paul Bos logo.

I am all in on case making some 3 7/8 trappers in cv, also if they had a larger variety of handles for their serpentine jacks, particularly in cv for they only have on with a black synthetic handle. actually emailed case a little while ago to see if they were coming out with those but they did not say yes (didn't say no either, lets hope they see our wish lists and go for it!)

IMO, Buck should look to use flat grinds on all sorts of their knives. It's doubly frustrating since Ron Hood got Buck to use flat grinds on their collaborations. So they CAN do it.

I would like to see a single spring, equal end knife like the white owl with a spear main and coping secondary and a version in 440C. About 3.5"
