As I get on in years I have noticed that I prefer the traditional to the new-fangled most of the time. I find myself grabbing my grandfathers old Winchester for hunting instead of a a newer gun. There is just something about granpa's gun that my dad hunted with. This father - son set of hunting knives is a reflextion of that.

Most knife makers will tell you that the trick isn't makin 2 knives. The trick is making 2 of them the same. These two are the same. Cut from the same billet of steel. The walnut scales are cut from a single peice of locally sourced walnut. Pins are from the same peice of pin stock. They were heat treated in the same oven at the same time. Same batch of adhesive. Ground at the same time on the same belts. The sheaths were made from the same hide, side by side.

These are not made from fancy materials nor designed to sit on the mantle. These are made to be used and passed on. The blade design is the McClelland Meadows. Overall length is 8 3/4" with a 4 1/2" blade. They are made from 1/8" O1 tool steel. The blades are saber ground with the heat treat scale left on the flats. The handles are walnut with black G10 liners and carbon fiber pins. The sheaths are 6-7 oz leather dyed brown to accent the handles.

The price for the set is $400 shipped with insurance. First "I'll take it" followed by a PM gets it. Must be 18+ to purchase. You are responsible for the laws in your area.

Thanks for looking.

I love the idea behind these, and they look tough enough to do whatever is asked and pretty enough to sit on the mantle. Either way, I like it.
