Trail comforts?

I don’t smoke much, but I do like to pack a pipe and tobacco on occasions; it’s just good to sit and enjoy the outdoors with a pipe.

On occasion, I’ll pack a little liquid spirits; my wife and I enjoy a cup of wine for desert around the campfire.

Another camp comfort is my Alite Monarch Butterfly chair…quite packable and not too bad on weight; very comfortable after a good hike with pack.

After using my Kindle, I can now see this being a good companion in the pack. My wife has nice packable backgammon set that is pretty nice for those rainy days under the tarp or in the tent.

Coffee and tea (my favorite is licorice root) are not what I would consider comforts…just standards pack items :D

A jar of Nutella. After dinner, eat it by the spoonful.

Nutella FTW!!!!! Nutella is it's own Food Group. Hugely popular here in Europe - my kids eat it on bread in the morning - i eat it by spoon in the evening ;)

My ID Hot Socks. They're like sleeping bags for my feet. :)

I've wanted a pair of the babies for a long, long time - since way before they moved to Colorado from Calgary, Alberta.

Oh well, my winter pack is usually heavy enough - non-essential lux items get looked over 3x before i actually put 'em in the pack. If i'm just hanging out in the lowland's and can use a pulk, well that changes *everything*!!!

I like this.
It doesn't always have to be the march of Alexander the Great.

Tripod for shooting in low light with my point and shoot. A standing one I mean, in addition to the gorilla pod one I normally have.

I know I might get shunned for this one but I always bring my tiny 1"x 2.5" dollar store MP3 player and sometimes a small battery operated external speaker so my buddy can enjoy the tunes too. Sorry but I can't go anywhere without music and lots of it. Everything from the Misfits to the Doors to Eazy-e to Johnny Cash and everything in between. I also tend to take a book or magazine(almost always a knife mag;)) and a small travel set of dominoes.

I always carry a hiking stick. Not fiberglass or anything, just a straight 6ft hickory sapling with a bit of carving to pretty it up. Wouldn't be caught on the trail without one. A million uses.

A book.

I'd call my dog a trail comfort too. I trust his instincts and tend to keep one eye on him to see if he's picking up a scent or sound. He's got his own pack (a kelty k-9) and carries his own food, a kong, spare flashlight and a couple of other things.

Some sort of Whisky (Scotch, Bourbon) and reading material (Louis L'Amour, James Fenimore Cooper, etc). A small waterproof digital camera as well. Finally, a second knife/multitool besides my fixed blade (Leatherman PS4 or SAK).

Having my 357 handy always makes me a little more comfortable.
Other than that, it's just the basics. Coffee, cigarettes, liquor, food etc.

I take my Mrs ..
I could do the trips solo , but its just fun to have her there to share them with
She also without fail has stuff stashed away like lollies or biscuits , she remembers to bring the handwipes too
My Mrs is kinda so much part of my life after the last 18 yrs or so , I seriously prefer to have her there next to me than not to .

Coffee is an essential to me, not a luxury which is why I have probably twice what I will likely drink. I usually have a flask of whiskey or bourbon, my pipe and some tobacco or cigars as well as a cut down Z-rest for a sitting pad. The pad makes sitting around the campfire enjoying those other things just so much more enjoyable.

coffee and powdered vanilla creamer for the morning. wine soaked cigars for the evening.
now that someone mentioned it, I will be adding peanutbutter m&ms to that list.

I usually freeze the bladder in my camelbak and put a couple of those bite size mars bars in there when im out on a day hike - sensational

I like to pack in my gold pans so i can poke around in the creeks and see what's there. You would amazed at what you can find in creeks with just a gold pan and classifier. I also like to pack in a book or two i love reading i have a nook but i don't want to pack that thing around to expensive.

I usually hook up our new pop-up..The wife and I set it up in 15 minutes and sleeping in a bed, in the woods is sweet...
