Trail knife...SOOO simple.... but I like it

Ok, Nick. Me being one who rarely puts handles on my knives, you KNOW I can appreciate this one! ;) :)

In fact, haven't I been bugging you to make me something like this? ;) :D

Good to hear that Shadow found a home with sizable running room and an owner that does long distance stuff. A friend of mine used to have a husky and the poor thing constantly wanted to be off and running just for the joy of running. And if a deer came in the back yard it was like mayhem trying to keep him contained from smashing through the window to go run down the deer. His parents took the husky in because they had a farm so all ended well there.

Newfies are among my favorite types of dogs. As a kid I often fantasized about owning one when I got older. Now I'm older and I still don't have the room or lifestyle to own a big dog, so I still fantasize and live vicariously through others who do have them.

Oh, and nice knife.

Cool--dimensions? Looks like around 3" cutting edge, 7.5" OAL? Thickness? Steel?

Nice little blade Nick and dang Mike beat me to the "it needs a smokin' hamon and 2000 grit polish" line LOL. I make little ones like this for the barn which have a tendency to disappear when we have someone sit our animals while out of town LOL.

Damn it Quesenberry!!*%!@#!! :grumpy:

:p :D

Will, it's actually smaller than that. I wear a large size glove, so I guess my hands are pretty average size-wise? The little knife is 6" OAL, ~2-1/2" blade, and ~3/4" wide at the plunge... from 1/8" 1084.

I have one I keep with me everytime I'm in the woods, and when I'm not, it's in a drawer in the kitchen. It literally cuts something every single day. I water quenched it and didn't draw it back much, and I only sharpen it about twice a year. I made a couple as shop knives that I quenched in Park #50, and they dull a little faster, but sharpen easier, and I don't worry about them just randomly popping apart some day. I actually forged one out of a little chunk of W2 cut-off from one of the billets for the Paranee blades. I'm excited to see how it holds up :)

is this a knife you could see yourself making in stainless?

Thanks guys :)

I can make anything in stainless Lorien ;) :) Well, except clay hardened blades polished with baby unicorn belly fur. :D

I like it Nick! Simple, yes....but still a really great end result.

I'm also a sucker for shop dogs!
