I have been going to our local lake and clearing the path around it for the fishermen and today I took my Cold Steel Carbon V Trailmaster and it did a great job on the briars. A heavy blade like the trailmaster was just the ticket for the thick briars as there was not much swinging room . The trail was covered in leaves so bad that I let my dog cisco lead the way , never a wrong turn from him.
I would like to post some pictures but have not mastered that yet , I have goten some of my photos to photobucket but that is as far as I can make happen so far.

Step 1) When you're looking at the grid of photos you've taken on photobucket, you should see four or so text boxes already populated with code directly under each picture. The bottom one will have something that starts with http://www.bla bla bla. Click on that box and it will highlight the code in it and it should have a little popup that says "code copied".

Step 2) Then, just come here, click on the box where you would normally enter your text to post and hold the control button on your keyboard and hit 'V'. It should paste the code in the text box. Simple as that. Post 'em up brother. Let us see how ya did.

If, by some chance, when you highlight the code in the text box to be copied, it does not automatically show the popup that says "code copied", with the code highlighted, hold the control button on your keyboard and hit 'C'. That will copy the code. Then follow the rest of step two.

Dylside it worked like magic I posted a photo of my dog. I am so happy and now will have to load up Photobucket with my shots. Thank you for taking the trouble to steer an electronicly challenged guy out, The Cisco Kid thanks you too.

Quit with the thanking and get the Trail-Master pics posted !!!! LOL !!!!!

i had the chance to sharpen up an older trail master the other day and i was somewhat surprised at how good it felt. i expected it to feel heavy and unweildy, and i expected the handle to be nothing special...it was nice to see that it balanced pretty well, was hefty but not unweildy and the handle was quite comfortable.

i didn't get to use it, but perhaps someday...

i second wanting to see pics!

I have a Blackjack Quick that I use often when clearing the trail but in those thick briars the Trailmaster with its weight is and no place to get a wide swing it is the ticket. I also have an Kershaw outcast that does a fair job although I find the handle a little small .
Siguy I have been concidering seending the trailmaster to you and also A Northwods knife that might use a litle thinning.

Send him the knife! It was my old Trailmaster that Siguy sharpened and its never cut better. Even when new---Si, Ill bring that Trailmaster and let you play with it for a while next time Im by.--KV

I enjoy my san mai Trailmaster....

I've seen a couple Carbon V TMs going here for around $150.

IMO that's a real bargain for that knife.
