Lol, it's my second EDC next to my EKI Mini Com. The only con I've encountered so far during some cutting tasks the flipper/semi-guard might hinder, and I recogn the Hyper as the better cutter, while the Trance provides more penetrating/ripping ability with it's much more accute tip (thus more fragile). Nonetheless, I find the Trance has the best overall ergonomics from the two CLB designs... (3 dots ) in the same segment of the blade spetrum. Aestheticly I prefer the Hyper for I've always had a weakness for spearpoint and recurve blades.
Why thank me? Daywalker is da Man:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
Anyway, I'm planning to order another Trance PE (for the all black collection), another Hyper (PE for use, the SE on the pic is #30:jerkit, my 3r SubComs black PE (already gave 2 away as gifts), and a SubClaw for my girlfriend (gotta paint it pink)... All these won't be realized prior to November, for I'm already broke and still waiting for KeyCom and 2008 Magnum, and a Hill Knives Commando Dagger (#80-ish of 250). Luckly I'll get a Direkt "for free", which I've alreay paid but returned because manufacture defect.
All said, these possible future purchase means I'll have to chose bewteen the Böker CLBs, EKI '12 and SOG Fat Cat... Sartre was right, man is condemned to the freedom of choice.
Back to the CLB subject, my Böker frenzy all started with the lil' SubCom my dealer urged me, since than I'm sinking deeper and deeper, sadly enough the bottom is yet in sight... Perhaps the next CLB design should be called Addict, and no 12 steps plan will cleanse our corrupted souls
lol, I've handled both Spydie Tenascious and Benchie Vex, about the same size as the Trance/Hyper, both a bit more expensive, thicker stock and feel more solid in hand. Nonetheless, a lil' knifenut will know the miracle Mr Reeves did when he invented the framelock. Anyway, I'm totally biased - guess which blades I chose?
10-4, Halfneck!!
MOI---Did Boker replace it? STR, said the Trance flew under hie Radar! lol. It's a great little-Big folder. I recommend the solid G-10 handle slab!
My black Trance shipped today via Priority Mail and I'm already on pins-and-needles as I await its arrival. I expect to receive it on Monday or Tuesday. Can't wait!
Aloha Chad and everyone,
Got my black Trance today, WOO-HOO!! A "big" small-knife, indeed! What an awesome little beast you designed, Chad! Okay, I'm sold. Next will be the Subcom in black followed by an M-Type in black.
The Trance is AWESOME!! Way to go, CHAD!!
