I had the same problem with my Trance when I first got it. After about three days of carry it was no longer a problem. I think I just got used to it and it slipped back clipped to my right front pocket smooth as silk. Then I discovered that the left thumb stud made the Trance a "Wave" knife. Thumbstud is removable. They are a set, however, both or none. Two plyers grasp firmly and twist. Heating up with hair dryer helps. Oh, you WILL scratch the finish in the process, so be prepared to sandblast them to restore the "look".
