No, amigo, thank you! At last a fast-out, easy-to-carry, great-to-use, inexpensive knife that I'm proud to carry and not afraid to use! :)

(Last Trance use today - to check and see how the steak on the grill was coming along! ;))

Erich, Nice to see you over here! I know you from the S&W forum! Guess we both have the same bad habits! HAHAHAHAHA:D

Lucky bastards, I got mine for €45 :(

PS. The KeyCom, Direkt and Edit are out!!!

Living in Europe sucks, doesn't it? I face the same problem as you do... buying locally is hell here. Our only chances is getting a bunch of stuff from the same store at once so international shipping doesn't kill us.

My last order was $32 for shipping... for $678 worth stuff :D :D :D (5 fixed blades and 2 folders). I payed yesterday and it should be here in two weeks at most. I just hope Customs don't open the package! So far I haven't got any problems with that, though. Even if the opened it and charged me some taxes... I will still be doing a great deal.

LOL, Mikel. I have come to my senses, and next time when I'm gonna purchase higher end stuff ($200+), then I'll order from the US of the A. However, I'm more than willing to pay the extra € to get my Bökers earlier than the lovely people *cough*Hillbillies*cough* from the states.

I bet living in the US sucks more ;)

...I bet living in the US sucks more ;)...

I lived in Wisconsin for a whole year when I was 16 (that is like 9 years ago) as an exchange student. I really enjoyed it. I wish I was into knives then as much as I am now! I brought like two folders, my only Leatherman and an Ontario SP8 I regret buying the very same day I used it for the first time.

Yesterday I saw an Spyderco Dragonfly (you know, the smallest one, keychain size) in a local store for 34€... and you can get it in eBay for $18...

Same here, if I was in the US, I'd have been buying an Emerson every month, but thoses are damn expensive here (at least €200). I'm gonna try order knives from the US, and hoping the best.

I usually ask my friends if they want something so when we order... we order big. That way we can split shipping charges among all of us (usually three or four people). So far we never had an issue with customs (they were mostly folders that pack small). Ebay works great for that. I don't really like it but some sellers just tag the packages as "hand tools", "camping gear" and such. That helps getting them through customs easier.

Just a quick note... A friend of mine was interested in a RTAK-II or a RAT-7 and we were planning to buy them in US. Not long ago I saw an RTAK-II in a local cutlery store. The damn thing was 240€ they have a RAT-7 as well (1095 steel) for 215€. We are waiting now for a RAT-7 from an internet US cutlery store and we paid like $85 for it... They are waaaaay over priced here. I am sure same goes with Emersons and pretty much any non-spanish brand knives. Hell! Even Fallknivens (swedish by the way) are cheaper in US!

Where are you from Man of Iron?

I'm from the Netherlands, and the knives here in the stores have the same suggested prices as the whole continetal EU. (suspecting clandestine agreements/rules of some kind amongst the importers: e.g. Böker won't deliver us the brands the Dutch importers offer, and expecting the same from Haller and Herbertz)

Anyways, I did hustle some friends to order a big batch together, but still have to try it out for the first time.

I think is more of a matter of taxes and stuff like that than just clandestine agreements...

Don't worry about buying outside. You can give it a try with a not so big batch... so you get a feeling of how it works. Try eBay.. guys selling stuff there tend to past through customs with no problem thanks to their not-so-correct packaging methods (don't state exactly what it is inside... and lessen the value of the items inside). I have done quite a few orders and none of them got stoped in customs if that is what you fear.
