Picked one up from Knife Works for $33 including shipping - probably the best deal on the market! This is a great EDC - strong, simple, functional, comfortable. I'm quite impressed. Will certainly have to pick up a Subcom in the future :) Here are some pics:

My friend Adam gave me one recently. (No, I won't destroy it through gross abuse.;) ) It has been one of my EDCs. Really great design. Fantastic value! Anyone who likes the Subcom or just great inexpensive pragmatic working designs would do well to check the Trance out.
 
Great knife. Now that I've got a Trance, I don't really need to carry the Subcom any more. (But I do anyway. :))

So far so good :) You did a great job with this one. Very practical - came in very handy at a BBQ today, doing everything from crushing ice for the cooler to cutting up steak. I love it :thumbup: Best value for the money for sure.
 
Seriously Chad, this knife can't be touched for it's price range! Hell I might even put up the Lil Temp and roll with this thing for awhile:eek: I know with my SF you said to take it over the white stones but this thing came extremely sharp. Very nice your designs have been impressive but this one could be Bokers delica! I truly hope they compensate you well. Take care. Thefly
 
just got my Trance yesterday.....I agree with thefly01's assessment.....;)
Great knife Chad!:thumbup: this will be my EDC for a while......I'm amazed at how light it is (for its size)......within two minutes of holding it I was way impressed....... :)
 
My Trance made me put away many knives for quite awhile (longer than most) and that says a lot.

No new pics, but here is an oldie of me closing it left handed (I'm right handed). It works for either.

yeah nice pic Zen, I was messing with it too as a lefty....the Trance pulls off ambidexterity quite well....:thumbup:
I couldn't appreciate the Trance until I held it.....hey this sounds like another company known for "fugly" functional knives.... :)

Hey thanks for the great posts...I really appreciate it. One knifemaker I know said that the Trance may be my, "tough act to follow"...yikes, I hope he is wrong.:rolleyes:

Trance is a nice EDC.... I've been packing mine since December, and, well, its still my EDC! Very cool, fun knife :D
 
Trance is a great knife and amazin design by Chad. I know it replaced all my spyderco knives in my pocket. It has it all. Fun to play with, it cuts like crazy, great ergos and planty of opening methods for SD use. Really have to say SF and Trance are way up there with the best of them. My favorites for sure.
 
Hey Chad, I've been using mine like crazy and today it went through the steps on the sharpmaker. It might actually be sharper than when I received it,and that was with 12 passes on the white stones! I have many rare Spydies that I choose to collect rather than use and this knife is an excellent reason why. Absolutely the best knife you can buy for the money period.

this is a wonderful knife for the price. i had initially gotten it as a beater for $25 at knifeworks, but i was really surprised with the great quality and slimness of this knife, not to mention its attractive design.

i think i have found the perfect accompanyment for that new suit i bought. :)
