Transformers movie is finally starting to take life.

I vaguely remember a team of cartoon robots, each had a different color, where one of them had the power to eat ANYTHING, and I think he was blue. I know this isn't much info, but if anyone remembers, I'd appreciate the info. Thanks. I also remember I thought it was pretty cool too! I think they could meld together and form a giant robot like voltron, but I could be wrong. I think they were supposed to be around human size also.

Yup, got excited when I saw the poster that it's coming out next year. Man! Can't wait!!!

That's funny! I was at the movies last weekend and they played the trailer and a guy two seats down from me went into convalsions! I think he's looking forward to this movie! (was a cool trailer though):D

So............did you see it yet?

I went last night and I think I'm gonna go again. It was awesome.

What? Thought it wasnt out untill tomorrow. I never saw the show but recently I saw the trailer and it really was sweet. So now Im excited to see the movie.

Finally! If feels like I've been waiting for the longest time for somebody to mention this! I just watched it last Sunday here in my country.

Man, I remember it was the "talk of the town" so to speak every Wednesday morning at school. I think it was probably one of the first cartoons here to be shown at primetime, Tuesday night.

IMHO, I wasn't that impressed. If its a Michael Bay-directed thing, it's going to be full of flash, a whole lot of bang but generally UNFOCUSED story development which is what I'd come to expect from his films (except maybe for "The Rock" and "Con Air"). Sure the CGI is great, but I actually felt dizzy with all the camera movement and angles going on. The robots didn't feel "real" but maybe because I was expecting their Gen. 1 incarnations instead of the huge mechanical "clunkers" they turned out for the film (I believe that's part of the reason why the original toons worked: sure they were robots, but were so advanced, you could almost see and feel they were "organic").

Maybe I'm getting "old" at 32 and was expecting or looking for the old nostalgia of the toons back in the day but it was just too damn loud, quick and unsatisfying for me.

They should lay-off a bit in what they're putting in Michael Bay's coffee!!!

But hey, don't let me spoil it for you guys. Go out and see if it floats your boat. Heck, MEGAN FOX alone is a draw herself!

I enjoyed it, saw it tonight. Thought the cartoons were corny, not too attached to them, barely remember them at all.

Michael Bay is the Ed Wood of our times. Except that for some reason, he keeps getting hired to direct movies.

Even if Bay didn't direct "Transformers", I'm not spending $10 to see a 2+ hour GMC commercial.

it was pretty good, i mean i wasn't expecting an Oscar winner or anything :)

and +1 on Megan Fox...

at first Bumblebee being a Camaro really bothered me, but it seemed to work out, they even had a bit of a nod to the VW

Showed for FREE here last week!!! Lots of shots done here on Edwards and Nellis up in Vegas. Almost collided with that damned Camaro when it came skidding across the lakebed on to Rosamond Blvd. CUT! CUT! CUT! GET THAT DAMNED X-TERRA OFF THE SET!!!! From the top again. Ready in five-four-three-two-and ACTION.

:D

So do the robots actually kill each other in the movie? Transformers (the 80s cartoon along with GI Joe) was the "A-Team" of the cartoon world. How can you fight for so long and no one ever dies?

Saw it yesterday. Thought it was pretty cool. The Camaro looked sweet.

And yeah ***warning spoiler incoming***

To answer Zen some of the robots do die in the movie. But who knows maybe they come back to life for the sequel. You'd have to assume that Megatron will be back.

they died in the animated movie...

Well that is the beauty of a villain robot. You can kill him over and over again and you don't have to wonder how he came back in the sequel.

Not perfect, but very cool. Glad they got Peter Cullen to do Prime's voice. It wouldn't have been the same without him. Shia LaBouf kept the whole thing grounded. Megan Fox? Good Lord, what a body! Not a half bad actress either. I think John Turturo's talent was wasted.

There were quite a few funny momemts, a few lame ones, and a ton of scenes that took me back to childhood. Worth seeing on the big screen.

The animated movie was much better than the series...I think characters start getting wasted in the first 3 minutes of the movie. I use my sons as an excuse to watch this stuff.
