I'm getting mixed signals on when the FSH will be shipping.
Still trying to understand how Busse does business (never quite seen any other company work this way), and would like to know what the exact story is.
On November 7th I was told Busse was 12-16 weeks away from shipping. When I ordered mine a few weeks ago, I was told pretty much the same thing. Now I'm seeing posters say Busse won't even start to ship till "all the orders are in", which I take to mean till production has ended.
Can anybody at Busse get on here & tell me what's going on?
Not trying to be obnoxious, I can wait for my turn, don't need an exact delivery date, etc., it would just be very helpful to know approximately when it'll hit the credit card.
Have I missed better info anywhere here? I emailed Busse & have not gotten a response.

Have you called the shop? (419) 923-6471. If you are that concerned I would go right to the source.

The way I understand it is a knife will generally ship 12-16 weeks after an order is placed....no matter when that order is placed.

I did call the shop.
they said it would be 10-12 weeks after the last orders were taken.
ie. when new knives appear on the website.
Good things come to those who wait.

Dark,
I did email Dave, who originally quoted 12-16 weeks back in November, at the address his email came from. Not being critical of Dave, he could be busy or on vacation, just noting that I did try the email source that worked before & got no response, and that's why I was hoping for some clarification here. I didn't necessarily want to call the order line & bug the gal there, she probably already gets enough "Where's my knife?" calls.
I'd noticed Jerry Busse on here occasionally, don't know who else might be an insider, was just posting on the off chance that somebody here might know what's going on.
Guess I'll give them a call after all.

WM,
Did they give you any idea of when the new knives will show up on the website? Sounds like we still have no ballpark estimate on when these FSHs will start to ship? Could be another month before any go out?

Again all- not trying to make a fuss or imply criticism, just trying to find out what's the deal with the shipping schedule & getting conflicting info. I don't have any pressing need for the knife, I'm happy to wait for it to run its normal course, but would like to know what that course is.
Thanks.
Denis

No prob here. I always recommend calling the shop for these types of questions instead of asking here. 99.999999% of us don't work for Busse and really shouldn't be answering them. The remaining percentage usually post while drunk and god knows what you'll be told. You'll see what I mean, Skunk should be around later tonight.

Dpris, I have had the same feeling of not wanting to call the shop and pile on with another "where's my knife" inquiry. When I have called and asked somewhat apologetically, they always tell me it is no bother at all and to please call with questions if you have them. I ordered my HO FSH on opening day and while I am extremely excited to get that knife sometimes I think my credit card deserves a little breather ;) . It seemed like they were getting FLOODED with orders on all of the models released recently and I expected a very long delivery time. The word a week or two ago was that the new model, the TAC Satin Jack would be introduced any day. Alas...it has been two weeks  . Let us know what you find out.

LOL!

Reeking of Mic Ultra, no doubt. :D ;)

Thanks Jerry, that's what I understood at first & it helps quite a bit.
Looking forward to seeing the knife.

Thanks everybody else for trying to help.

can't a hog even go a few hours without some porker interrupting his drinking? it take two weeks from the time you ask, the two weeks are accumulative, so quit asking and it will be two weeks.

sheeeeesh.... ask 7 times and it 14 fricking weeks, get it

some of my stuff is years out, you think i would quit asking and speed things up

It makes perfect sense to me. For once, I completely understand.

If you ask how long, the answer is always "2 weeks".

If you ask twice, then you have to wait 2 weeks times two! (2 weeks from each answer to both questions.)

I've never asked "how long", so my knives always just appear the moment I order them.

When the Fusion Steel Hearts are shipped, you will see numerous messages on this forum announcing their receipt by various people. I promise you that these guys will not keep silent about them. When that happens, give it a week or two. If nothing comes by then, call the shop!

Wait till the day comes and it will if you're lucky, when a package arrives from Busse with a knife that you've totally forgotten that you ordered. Makes your whole week.

Well, the actual root of the problem is not in being impatient, it lies in the fact that the credit card number used for the order is a utility account and we'll be using it for the trip to the SHOT Show in a couple weeks. Was trying to get a feel for whether the card may be charged in the middle of the trip & cause a minor nuisance. We don't keep a high balance on that one, usually just what we need. Nice to know if I should juggle some money around or not.
Waiting for the first mention of somebody getting theirs, or for the knife to appear, won't help out there. The issue was to figure out when the hit on the card will come.
I'm in no hurry for the knife, no use for it during the snow months, and I do forget about it most of the time. Easiest way to deal with special or custom orders.
Thanks again for trying to help. :)
I do appreciate the efforts at encouragement.

I have to admire the fiscal discipline to begin with ;) . I have only seen one post from someone having received their Leaner/Meaner Street which was available the month before the FSH! I would imagine over the next month, those will be shipping in greater numbers (along with a corresponding flood of posts on them) and the Steel Hearts a month or so after that. At best. Then again...I haven't heard a lot of noise about people getting their NARKS and the company store has those so maybe things are farther along than they seem at BladeForums. Am I missing something?

Another chapter.
Just got a response to the email I sent Busse before Jerry's response here. It's from Miki in Customer Service & says "We are still about 10 to 12 weeks away from completing the steel hearts."
That didn't address the shipping or billing question, and seemed to imply more time than Jerry's response indicated, so I called their general info & order number and talked to a friendly gal who said it was her understanding that none are shipping yet, it would be 14-16 weeks after the orders were in, and didn't know what the exact process was. My impression was that Busse (the company) waits to get all orders in, then sends off the order for the steel, then produces the knives, and then ships sometime after the knives are in production. She couldn't answer my questions about whether the Steel Hearts are now in production, if they'll start to ship as soon as they're in production, or if they'll ship after the production run is ended, whenever that is.
Her best estimate of when they'll ship is another 2-3 months, but she did say she doesn't know exactly how the process goes.
This is not a criticism of either her or the company. She was very friendly and did her best to answer my questions, she just didn't have the information. I thought the question of shipping 12 to 16 weeks from the time of order was settled by Jerry until I got this email from Customer Service this morning, and that's what prompted the phone call for further clarification. What I was told on the phone contradicts what Jerry said here.
Jerry- if you see this, could you please help me out? Do you wait till all orders are received by a certain cut-off period indicated by whatever's posted on your company website, send in your steel order to your foundry, produce some or all of the knives & then ship some or all of them out? Will you start shipping them out in batches as they're produced or wait till the entire bunch of orders is produced & then start shipping?
I'm not trying to hurry the process, just trying to understand it, and I'm still getting conflicting info.
Thanks.
If the order and production process has been covered elsewhere, I apologize for asking to have it duplicated here, but I haven't seen it.
