Well, if you read my originally post you will see I stated I'm in an old house and the doors are solid wood. They aren't hollow like modern interior doors.
 
Hi All-

God knows that there is a world of difference between hollow-core junk and quality doors of solid-core construction. One should always expect to pay a shiny penny for the latter, but it sounds like WadeF already has the real deal as original equipment.

Solid wood doors are pretty common in the older homes in my area (Bucks County, PA). My place is about 80 years old. Our doors aren't just solid, they are pretty thick too. They are heavier than the solid wood doors in my folk's place which is closer to 150 years old. Other than that, the doors aren't much to look at, they are pretty ugly, beat up, etc. They could use to be refinished, but I just moved in here a few years ago, had two kids, and I can't justify the expense at this time. :)
