TRAPPER TUESDAY

I like this one.

This Schrade TRT96 Tennessee River Trapper just arrived. It was a SFO made by Schrade for Walmart and Sam's Club in 2003 and is a variant of Schrade's 296 Pattern. It is 4 1/8" closed with a 3 3/8" Turkish Saber Clip blade and a 3 15/16" Spey blade both of which are 420HC stainless. The bolsters are nickel silver and ringed and the clip blade is acid etched "Schrade Super Sharp". The fit and finish are first rate.

What drew me to this knife are the jigged amber bone covers and that there is no shield. Just look at that bone. Very detailed and sharply cut and no shield to detract from it.

Even with it's late manufacture this knife is top of it class. No gaps, chips and the transition from bolsters to covers is perfect.

I liked the one I showed last Tuesday so much I bought another. The dealer I bought them from has one left. I may just have to get it and then I'll have a trifecta of them. Anyway, here's my two Schrade Tennessee River Trapper knives.

If my Google-fu is up to snuff, looks like your dealer is now out of stock. Beautiful knife, hope I can find one someday. :)
