Hesparus the squared off portion on the bottom of the blade would be used to drop over the trap chain and pull it from the water,hence the long handle,the massive poll would be used for driving drowning stake's and the like,while the deep recessed area known as a Nok would be used for hanging near by to free up your hand to attend the trap as well,the Nok could also be used for bending wire trap's back into shapeBeautiful. What makes it a trapper's hawk?

Oh Jez you've got your hand's full if your raising them,that'll keep you out of trouble thoughlol Yeah I've been busy. Raising Llamas, hiking, fishing and running around in the woods with a tomahawk.
