If you took the barb off the top
and removed the etching
and removed the skull
and went 90% toward a more traditional handle

I sorta like the basic profile.

Here's a trap: Once you've got about 20 coats of Tru Oil on your wood handle and you've been sanding in between coats with 1000 grit sandpaper, it's time to switch to 120 grit sandpaper to really bring out the shine. Make sure to sand with the grain.

Ya stick the whole thing upside down in ya pocket and when ya pull it out the blade automatically air conditions the front of ya pants. Just hope Mr Happy isn't in the way!

Rusty once brought up the fact in another post about this "knife" that Pala was in the Assam Rifles when he was an active duty Ghorka.
Personally I think the etching is kinda pretty but I don't like skulls on most things. Sometimes they are called for but not often in my experiences.

Huh! And here I was, using a wire brush to do the final buffing. How dumb!

I find that wet sand rubbed by hand -around- the grip
offers an excellent buff finished.
