Trash landing

Seems appropriate.......Monday is TRASH day in my neighborhood.

Looks nice. With a weight of 13oz that is just slightly more than the RMD. I love my RMD but I think this thing will get the nod when I am hiking the ranch or outside Texas (RMD keeps me legal here).

Wow!! They look great!! I ordered mine on Sept. 26th....haven't gotten a ding yet but I'm hoping this week

Mine arrived today also. As a bonus the mailman delivered my first auto, a Kershaw Launch 3 in S35VN. Kudos to Denny for the sharpening job on my TRASH. No reprofiling on the edge needed, the angle is perfect imo. Love the feel of both the TRASH and the BG ASH1. I'll be keeping both, but then I am a self admitted knife junkie. My wife told me this morning I need an intervention.

I haven't had a knife with Denny's name on the cardboard yet but I agree, this has the best stock edge I've gotten on a Busse/Kin. Granted that's a small sample for me (5 Dogs, 4 Rats, 2 Hogs) but this is nice. My Harbor Freight (I know, I know, still higher quality than my scales though) calipers are showing .04-.05" behind the edge most of the way along the TRASH up to .07" behind the edge at the tip compared to .06" behind the edge up to .09" near the tip on the BG ASH. It seems like a miniscule difference but it's definitely noticeable when looking at it. There's also an obviously wider edge bevel on the TRASH than on the BG ASH.

The TRASH balances in the choil area, the BG ASH-1 balances just behind the guard with the canvas micarta I have on mine.

My one gripe is the square choil, but I'm a choil hater so it's just a preference really. :D

All in all, there is definitely a pronounced difference between the two. Time will tell but I'll be surprised if the TRASH doesn't turn out to be a relatively solid chopper for such a short blade. I cannot wait to get both of these out into the sticks to try out together.

I think anyone who got one of these- and especially who got one of these at the original price- got one heck of a deal! My bet is we have a home run here. Thanks Dan and crew!

Soooo.. about this Wednesday.. if the recent rotation continues aren't we looking at another Scrap Yard release this Wednesday?

I also noticed the edge on the TRASH looks really nice in the pics. In fact I was going to ask if you guys had already sharpened them. I just got dinged so I am hoping mine is as out of the box ready to go when it arrives. I had to do a lot of reprofiling on my RMD to get it where I like it.

Congrats all around...they really are sweet looking. Now if mine will just show up I'll be a happy camper. :)

Those are very nice, just not lined up with a camera angle from the left making them look odd. ;)

Yes, just some shoddy cell phone pic optical trickery. Otherwise I'd keep the big one for myself and wrap the 2 smaller ones up as Christmas gifts...
