Greetings Gentlemen:

The idea of this design was a subhilt with a touch of Persian/Recurve/Dagger. To be honest with you, I don't know if I like it at all - honest feedback please. I aspire to the old saying "When you run with the big dogs, you're gonna get pissed on," so don't hold back. :)

The overall shape looks...wrong. Almost as if the proportions are off, maybe a slightly wider blade, or perhaps a bit shorter. Or eliminate the notches at the base of the blade.

Having said that the execution appears flawless!

One trash vote - thanks! :)

Overall I like it! But then I love sub hilts, so I'm sure there's bias involved.
There does seem to be something off between the spine and blade edge. The "flow" isn't right. Seems there's a dip in the spine that either shouldn't be there or doesn't follow the right line to go with the recurve.
Don't destroy it or throw it away just PM me for my mailing address.

Another vote for trash :)

Far from trash! Wider blade and no notch on the top of the blade. transition of the curve on the dagger tip looks hard good job pulling it off. Hell, I'm a novice compared the rest of you makers.

Given your reputation, expertise and previous submissions, I would think that your knife is about an nine-hundred dollar piece of trash...
It's all in the eye of the beholder...although I don't personally care to hold it.

I love your knives - heck, I have a few!

But.....while I would never say "trash" because of the amount of work involved...

I'm not really a fan of this one - pinched in ricasso area just doesn't look right in a non-dagger. Recurve area is a little short for length of blade IMHO.

Beautifully constructed as always

Way too nice from trash. I think it's beautiful. If I was making a purchase I would not want the recurve. Other than that its top notch!

you asked for it , here comes the piss :) i like it but the recurve does not have much flow, looks like a slight V shape more than a curve. i love the swoops on the sides of the ricasso. i think if it had More persian curve upwards and no recurve it would be even better.

My thoughts exactly.

No problem John - appreciate the honest feedback. Your comments are exactly why it has sit finished on my workbench for the past three months. :)

Hiya Bill - good to hear from you. Thanks for the honest feedback. Another trash vote I see!

One comment to you all - I appreciate the kind words about the execution - though the design isn't up to my liking, it's still my best work in construction. I still love making them, even when they're ugly. :D

Doesn't really work for me, the recurve and top groove in the ricasso throw my sense of proportion off. Hardly trash, but not my cup of mildly caffeinated brewed beverage...

I could see a guy in Dubai collecting this :)

Handle looks great but the recurve makes the blade appear like it was bent/damaged. I feel like straight handles look good with straighter blades and curvy handles to curvy blades. The ricaso/choil thing going on their is ugly.

Does the blade mid-line (not sure what's it called on double-edged knives) not follow the curve of the belly?

I almost want to say the knife would look really nice without the ricaso/choil thing mentioned above, I can't take my eyes off it and it ruins the experience for the rest of the knife, especially the handle which is quite sexy.
