That's cool, Rob...I wondered about it for a while myself. "BTTT" = "Back To The Top"; it's used to keep an important thread near the top of the listing where everyone can find it easily.

Only 12 days to get more khukuris! Maybe one a day each day, or more like the 12 days of christmas. "on the first day of khukuri, my true love gave to me: ONE ENGRAVED BANSPATI!"etc...

I'm back!

I just remembered I saw a bunch of khukuris for sale at the night market in Chiang Mai. They were those cheap and highly decorative tourist stuff you see on ebay from time to time.

One was going for $500! I laughed. I laughed harder when I saw the karda. It looked like a toothpick that a large rat had gnawed on.

I don't know if you're going to be near Ratchburi during your trip. But if you are you must check out the Thai knife/sword smith scene. I missed out on it, but there is a great article in the back of the new Blade Magazine by Francis Boyd. Fascinating stuff.

When you do go... How about bringing some of that kukhri rum for the gathering? Just an idea.
