Have as good a time as you can under the circumstances, and for heaven's sake, WATCH OUT FOR TIGERS!!

Bob

I work ten times harder than any co-worker. It takes me ten tries to do something right.

I will take a LOT of pix. I am going to get pix of every kami we have, the facility, every damned thing I can point a camera at and I hope the airport x-ray machines do not destroy my negs as they did one time.

I will probably try to get some pix developed in Nepal just to have a backup of pix in case the x-ray machines do it to me again.

I want to thank the great generosity and kindness shown in this thread and in the personal email I have received regarding this journey.

Khukuri FAQ

Bill, I dunno if you're aware of this but the software now supports multiple moderators at once. You can arrange to give Rusty moderator rights for the duration or even keep him around in case you miss anything - and I too think Rusty would be a good choice.

I think the limit is five moderators max? We have several forums now with three moderators, so when Gelbu comes up to speed add him in?

Over in Community, adding Vampire Gerbil in as co-moderator has been a great help and will prove critical while I'm dealing with this upcoming trial.

Anyways, Godspeed, I think you'll find that the total loss of biz for that month will be small or non-existent; expect the month after that to be swamped though

because people will be willing to wait.

And I know a certain prototype item will be headed back too, which makes me very happy

Jim. I just sent email to Spark and Mike asking them to stick Rusty up as co-moderator. Is this all it takes?

And, I HOPE the prototype will be headed back with me. We'll see how the kamis take to it.

I may be able to answer some email and perhaps make a few posts here using Gelbu's computer but am not certain. I'll do the best I can to stay in touch and will be sure to take 100's of pix.

Thanks again, Jim and all.

Khukuri FAQ

Bill, that's all it takes. Rusty, a word of advice: if something strange comes up and Bill's not available for consultation, ask James Mattis's advice. Bill and James are the two moderators around here with their heads screwed on the straightest in my opinion

. That's the same advice I gave VG when he started.

Like the best moderators around here, Rusty has a great sense of humor plus he knows Khuks. He'll do fine.

I'll be coming home from Thailand the same day you're going there. Have a good time in Nepal, I'd like to go there some day.

Bring with you a big box full of American epoxy, and carpenter glue for the sccabbards.

Two important questions in life:
Do they have a catalog?
Did you know there's a town called "Batman" in Turkey?

I will lay in an adequate supply of medication before you go, Uncle.

If it is a question on a knife - I'd ask Joe Talmadge or Cliff Stamp. Cliff's reviewed every knife from the Mesozoic era, so he's a good bet to know the answer...

enjoy the trip Bill!
