Traveling to Italy! What should I take??

I don't know about their knife laws, but I do know the best gelato in Rome after extensive taste testing is Il Gelato di San Crispino, near the Trevi fountain (I think there is also a location near the Pantheon). Check it out.

All great advice gents! I think simply for the utility the SAK is gonna be the choice. Everyone sees them as harmless tools.

Still open to any suggestions though. Ill have to revisit this thread with photos when I return.

I have no idea what Italian knife laws are like, but after I saw the Böker Plus Worldwide 2.0, I thought Bingo!

Or at least maybe in the realm of possibilities that aren't some sort of SAK.

Hey, the wife and I will be travelling to Amalfi as well in the first week of September, I personally will be bringing a SAK Explorer, leaving my Spydies at home. I don't want to risk them being stolen or taken by police/customs and I don't expect to have much need for a knife anyways :)

I settled on an MKM Malga 6. Italian knife for an Italy vacation!

I figured that a SAK style would be seen as a tool, the blue is harmless looking and the tool set on this is all food oriented. I normally hate corkscrews on my saks, but I anticipate drinking a lot of wine! The fork will be good for charcuterie, and the blade is M390. I just cant stand when SAKs have that out of alignment blade orientation! Its a peeve of mine. I like when it is in line woth the handle.
