Sounds like you could finally get that Darwin Award.
And that's why I'm a bit worried.
I think I recognize the signs of 'overeducation' -- for which, I am a poster-child.

Just walked out and shot the tip with the laser.
12 yards (36 feet).
Since you have to stand out a bit and shoot up at an angle, I'd say 30 feet was a pretty good guess.
And that's why I'm a bit worried.

If you could tell Old Physics exactly how far from the base of the tree you were, then with those two values he could do the trig and calculate the height. I used to be able to do that, about 33 years ago.![]()

I think you were right with the Darwin Award part. I had a neighbor outside taking photos as I was finishing it off. I presume to sell to the paper in the aftermath of the expected tragedy... pessimist!![]()
The only big tree I have in Sonoma is a Redwood. If I tried to cut it I'd have Skunk out here hugging it. :grumpy:

I was trying to guess the INFI line up in the other thread...
I was spot on!!!
Glad you got'er done safely... now comes the fun of choppin' it up.
.
At some point, as I make my way down from the top, I'm probably going to switch from INFI to Poulan.![]()
