Tri-Ad lock from Cold Steel SR1 Lite Tanto Failing Multiple Times Under Hard Use Test

T it's probably sold a few SR1's. ;)

But actually, that's not the reason I bought it.
A sharpened piece of 3/16" thick steel? Come to papa.

Here it is next to an American Lawman.

Unlike the current SK5 SRK, this has the original more robust tip of the AUS 8 SRK and it's flat ground instead of hollow ground. Hubba Hubba.

That you tube film impressed me with the knife s strength. I can t imagine any other folder I know about standing up to that kind of abuse.

I have the SR1with the s35v blade. I thinned the edge to make it a bit better with slicing. Still probably the strongest folder I own. I don t carry it , as the Recon 1 does all the work related jobs I need. But if I could have only one toll to use for everything, it probably would be the SR1.

I hate to lose the message of the videos....but wearing that gas mask and Darth Vader breathing is pretty annoying.

If he just wore some PPE....those would be fantastic videos.

Tear your $hit up, so I dont have to.

Yup, it failed, but only under absolute maximum abuse, and very few other Cold Steel folders have failed so the Tri-Ad maintains its reputation as the best lock ever.

I still assume the only way to defeat the Tri-Ad is gross deformation of the handle.
