The 3 Tanto blades that are always with me. The Cold Steel mini stays on the keychain and the ZT and JR Customs get switched out depending on how I want to carry.

I love that custom.

I was never a fan of the way most companies do tanto points. I feel the swedge they put on them detracts from point strength, which defeats the whole reason for the design if you ask me...but that custom (like the Micro Recon 1 below it) looks like what I consider to be a properly designed tanto point. Friggin' sweet!

Thanks! I worked with Jim to get me certain design criteria met on this blade and am extremely happy. I asked him to beef up the blade. Just to give you an idea, the custom is easily a third thicker than the ZT!!! The point of that beast will be just fine, LOL!

thanks, really is a great EDC fixed blade. Handle is great. The blade is more than sufficient!!! I will try to post some pics of the width in comparison with the ZT.

Thick blades need loven' too!
Here is the shot I promised of the JR Custom next to the ZT:

I totally agree. Cold Steel has that American Tanto tip down Cold in terms of performance and function. The custom CM has there did it right as well. Nice, pronounced yokote.

I made an all wrist, sharp snap cut against a 5 layer deep stack of cardboard on top of my cutting board. I used my Endura, my Talwar, my Ti-Lite, and my Recon 1 Tanto. All the non Tanto knives only made an mark in the top layer of cardboard. The Recon one made it through the top 3 layers, and into the 4th layer. Mind you, this was all wrist.
