This is one of my best all around game designs. Works well around camp also.
The flatground 1/8"semi-skinner blade is ground from D-2. It's 4 1/4" long x 1 3/16" wide. Convex edged. It's been mirror polished and was given a cryo HT by D'Holder. The bolsters are brass with N/S pins. The scales are stabilized box elder burl with some really nice contrast/grain. It has red/black spacers and black liners. The knife is 8 1/2"OAL and weighs 5 oz. The sheath is 8/9 oz bark tanned leather that has been wet formed and hand stitched. Waterproofed with Reselone. Price is $180.00 PayPal, $175.00 check/mo. Shipping is $7.00. Contact joelcb@pennswoods.net. Thank you for looking............SOLD

Great design Joel. Is it as tough as they say to get that kind of mirror finish on D2? When you can see trees and clouds in the reflection it must be a perfect finish. Excellet workmanship.

Thank you, sir. D-2 does texture slightly, but not as bad as ATS-34/154CM. Those two really get this kinda "wootz"texture to them. To me, D-2 is easier to grind and finish than ATS-34 or 154cm.

I really like what you have done here and will have to try a chunk of D2 some day. It is always a good practice to not have two types of steel in the shop and get them mixed up in the heat treating process. (Sorry to muddy up your posting)

Actually you're not. I use a "dot" system, using my center punch on the tang; whether full or stick. Two dots vertical is 154CM( I don't use ATS-34 anymore). Three dots in a triangle is D-2. Three dots vertical is BG-42. CPM-30V is so unmistakable I don't bother:) I ship my blades to D'Holder, and in addtion I write what they are in magic marker......which is gone when I get them back.

Mark,
I did e-mail you, but just to make sure I'll be redundant. I had a query from a guy in England earlier today. As soon as I get his final word I'll be sure to let you know one way or the other. They're either 5 or 6 hours ahead of us timewise, so it was his evening when he posted.
