Hi All,

My first post, so I thought I would show you a couple of the knives I just finished.

My disclaimer is that in no way shape or form am I trying to capitalize on the Becker BK2 or profit from Ethan's' quality design. These blades were made in admiration of the BK2 only, and they are simply my rendition of this great knife.

I have been manufacturing heavy duty knives for a while now, and I wanted to make a super sized version of the BK2. They are 3/8" thick and made from 5160 truck leaf springs that have been deferentially heat treated. The first has a 6" long blade and the second has a 10" long blade, respectively named the HD 6 and HD 10. You guessed it, HD means Heavy Duty. I have found these knives to be indestructible. The drawback is that they are on the heavy side, but they are made to be more than just knives. Pry, dig, throw, stab, and anything else I could throw at them, they just smile and ask for more. OK, so maybe I am just a little proud of them. :-)
What I like best about these knives is the handle design. When chopping with the knives, the hook for the hand really keeps the knife in place.

Becker knives are great knives, these are just Becker like knives on steroids. Hope you like them.

Good looking knives. Whereabouts in VA are ya?

Looks pretty good from here. We're gonna need some action pix though. Semper fi

That is awesome. While I definitely see where the inspiration came from, I wouldn't consider these a Becker rip-off.

I think we should test it! I have a three day weekend coming up if you need help with that! ;)

Seriously cool though.

Well, thank you all for the warm welcome and kind replies.
I snapped a couple more quick pics of the spine and point strength of these knives for your viewing pleasure. I will try to answer all your questions in just a moment.

The pics really don't do them justice. Sorry for the bad cell phone pics.

Hunter Sharp- The BK 14 is the only Becker that I currently own. I know, I know, I plan on fixing that soon. The BK2 has been on my short list for some time.

wrknives- I do have 2 of the HD 6's and 1 of the HD 10's left. I useally just sell local but if the moderators allow it then I wouldn't mind talking to you more about that. I just don't want to step on ant toes or make anyone upset, because it is not my intent on using this forum for advertising, just show and tell.

DerekH- I live in Catlett, Va, but thats just a layover untill my new house gets built in Culpepper.

L4NE4- Funny you should mention that. I have the predasesor/prototype of these knives that I was considering using as a pass around for testing. I will add some pics of it and some of the testing that I have done. Not sure how exactly to work that so any ideas would be great.

I call this one the Grunt. 11" blade and 7/16" thick.

Extreme point strength.

One swing to gut a softball.

120218_003.jpg

Thrown over 100 times at the tree. Only got it to sink in about 10 times, but boy did it ever sink in.

When it stuck, the goal was to snap the handle sideways to try to break the tip. The only thing that gave was the tree.

I definately like the Becker styled handles better now, so I won't be going back to handles without a finger hook at the end.

So before I sign out, here are a couple shameless pics of the Warrior Bowie. It has a 10" blade that is 3/8" thick.

Take care All.

Looks awesome!

If you want to do a pass around just be careful. Limit it to few people and check their history.

Really dig that warrior Bowie. Great work. I believe a gold membership is needed for any sales on the forum.(correct me if I'm wrong guys). But I don't think you would have any issues getting rid of them here. Keep up the good work and stick around. Lots of new goodies headed our way soon...... I hope

To sell your own work you need an orange membership.

Thank you gentlemen for the heads up. I just plan to show the pics, then. After hunting season is over, I plan to get back out in the woods with the HD 6 and 10, and will post more pics then.

Kabarcamper- The Warrior bowie is my rendition of the old V44 Marine Raider Bowie. The general profile is all that got carried over from the original. I designed it to be more of an upgrade.

I will have to post some pics of my other work to show you why I am such a big fan of the Becker design. Most of my other knives have a curved handle without a finger hook. This is fine for smaller knives, but when I used them for extensive chopping, I found my grip began to losen and the knife began to slip. So, future knives will have a finger hook at the end of the handle, and that's why I'm here giving due credit to Ethan Becker for his awesome design.

Take care All.
