Tribute to the BK-10

you three know of any hidden places to look? I've got an email to Chestnut Ridge asking if they made theirs or outsources them.

let us know if they do have these scales still

not looking for them to work good, just trying to find a pair for "style"

Unless the style is copyrighted, not sure how that works once a company dies, at last resort we could ask ye olde Sh@rpness to help us out. I will be many moons before my wallet is replenished tho.

Thes tuff that sh@rp does isn't that different from the Camillus micarta. Still, I would imagine that the Ka-Bar micarta is a lot more comfortable and ergonomic.

I think the Camillus scales are comfortable, but I have large hands. I wear XL gloves.
Pisses me off everytime I see the value packs of gloves at Home Despot, and they're all size L.
The Camillus scales are blockier for sure, and the Ka-Bar scales are going to be a better fit for a larger range of hands.

I like the Camillus Scales, don't get me wrong, They look cool and are that piece of history that looks good on a Camillus era knife and they aren't uncomfortable. however, When you grip a Becker knife Ka Bar/Camillus or any generation of Grivory I guess, They are contoured to fit the hand and are comfortable the KA BAR Micarta is the most like Grivory in size and contouring.

I will say the finish and fit is nicer on the camillus right from the get go, I usually end up sanding rough spots and sharp edges of Kabar micarta before they feel right. Take that right, not a complaint just a little more work, and it's good.

well, as it turns out, i think Ethan would say that HE owns the rights to all that stuff now, lock stock and barrel, so ... he's the man to ask.

anything else Camillus had left, other companies bought rights to. stuff like that just doesn't stop being owned. someone has an interest.

make a version for yourself (or "research"), usually no biggy. start selling it, with the SAME look and feel and dimensionality (ie: casting molds, making CNC programs, you owe someone royalties. if you make you OWN design, well, probably okay. IANAL (except when i try ;>)

I think I'll still be able to gloat for quite some time with this baby!
