Trident folder locking system?

I got my first Trident folder today and love it. Its locking system seems to be like the FlashII piston lock but uses an arc lever to push the piston down. Am I missing something here?

That's correct. The newer flashes actually have the same type of release as the trident.

Instead of touching the lock bar itself they put a swivel just above the opening and made a round release. That round release touches the lock bar which releases the lock.

Sorry if that's not explained very well but if you look at the older flash release and the trident, you'll see what I mean.
