Here You have folder prototypes, and some testing of them:

And a recent picts of a final version (at least fo LVMPD):

I like it, I like their fixed blade designs as well. Any idea of how much its going to cost?

For nearly $500.00 it should be able to carry in the left pocket, but this one apparently is righty only. Some cops I know carry their folders in a left-handed configuration in case they are fighting over the gun in their right hand.

Looking great.

But i think they should just go for a strider/reeves framelock.
Im looking forward to seeing the final product.

I can't wait for this knife. I've already email'd them telling them to put me down for one. It looks amazing, and you can tell its tough as all get out!!!

I don't like the way too asymetrical handle slab thinkness, the coated blade, or the writing and pictures on the blade. Not too appealing to me at all, especially at that price.

The etching on the blade is custom for LVMPD and will probably not be on consumer models. As for the handles, it may not look like much, but Triden'ts hand sculpted G10 slabs are the most comfortable and secure I've felt on a knife. This is definately one of those don't knock it till you try it situations.

Oh, and a heads up, I was told the other day by one of the only retail dealers for Trident that the folders have been delayed a few months. :(

I don't think the handle looks uncomfortable, but the really thick liner on one side only looks terrible to my asymetric hating personality type. If they had put liners on both sides, satin finished the blade, and put some dual thumbstuds on, the knife would be a lot more appealing to me.

If it's and butts were nuts, my aunt would be my uncle.

Hey, different strokes for different folks. Myself owning many Strider folders, I think this looks a little fresh to me, and I can't wait for it.

I quite like it...I hate coated blades though.

That said, there's no way in the world I'd spend 500 on this.

I hate super thick blades anyway.

Coating on a blade matches coating on service pistol, same as badge number and logo. I'msure that You will have a choice of coated/noncoated blade.
If You are really interested there should be no problem with another liner.

All Trident knives may be customized to customer wishes, that includes coatings, grind types, changes in handle shape etc.

I just ordered two of them. I have a feeling my partner at work is gonna want one when he sees mine, so I'm saving him the headache.

Cathy is the nicest person I've ever talked with in the knife industry. I definitley see more Tridents in my future.

I also don't like the looks of the single liner, and that price is kind of crazy for something geared toward law enforcement. The limited carry options kinda sucks, too.

Darnit that sucks. These look right up my alley.

Any chance of a a frame lock later on????

Thanks for the info btw, and sorry that so many people complain about these products, they look awesome to me.

I like it. Personally I would go for the reversable tip-up/tip-down than a left or right side carry option but thats just me. I think just tapping the holes for reversing left to right would do better than adding more screw heads to the surface and style.
I would also prefer it with dual liners AND g10 slabs as previously mentioned IMO but the simple fact that Trident will modify the basics impresses me. A framelock would look sweet also if it looks too bulky with dual liners.

My favorite part about Trident is that if you want something done differently, they'l usually do it for you. I wanted a longer version of their Oberland O-3, and he made me one. Very easy people to deal with.

Sweet folder, I´m gonna get one:) To be honest I don´t find that price unreasonable. I have several striders that are in the same price league and above.

That's cool. Too many high end knives that I want, and an income too low to keep up with them as is, so I probably won't be in line to pick one up, but I'll definitely keep an eye on how they do.
