Heated the blades to 800, sifted the PBC on. Did that twice. Looked like a good even coat then back in to kiln to harden. I did an edge quench, then after a few seconds full quench. All of the PBC except what is along the part that was edge quenched flaked off. The PBC on the edge didnt even come off in boiling water as I had read about. They are now tempering, but will this come off in vinegar? Anyone else experience this. I cant believe its the coating as it worked perfect on the rest of the blade.

I put them in boiling water for a few minutes.....thats about as hot as water can get :)

I've let my blades start in boiling water and let the temp drop slowly for 10-15 minutes
for stubborn anti-scale.

The second time in boiling water didnt change anything. Hopefully there isnt much decarb there. Ill find out at the grinder tonight. Just weird that it only happened at the quenched part of the blade

It was all decarbed on the quenched edge. Any ideas why? Suggestions on application?
