I liked how the G10 looked with the wood on my last blade so I decided deviate from what I've been doing so far and to make a "Frame," style bolster with multiple layers of G10. Let me know what you think! I am always looking to learn and improve so if there is anything I can tweek from looks to construction I'd love to hear it!

Bolster: Frame G10 with brass pins
Accents: G10 and Brass
Handle: Stabilized Maple Burl
Blade: Maihkel Eklund "Fat Bob," Stainless steel Sandvik 13C26
Finish: Truoil

Overall, the lines of the knife don't speak to me much, but that's subjective- your fit and finish looks quite good, and that wood is very pretty! Your experiment with the bolster is a winner in my book.

have to say it's quite a good look. the layering gives it a really finished appearance like someone went the extra mile. beautiful wood too

Groy she is beautiful!!! Reminds me of a high end version of moras new knife the eldris. Great work!

I gave the pic a twist, perspective is important

Handle and bolster looks good to me.
Handle looks a bit fat and blade looks short compared to the "clasicc scandi" i have in my mind.

As Salem said, fit and finishing is really well done
I loke the colour combos you have there.

Pins
I think the mosaic pin could be higher

I think the top plain pin is too high / close to the edge of the handle and would be better if you made the placement both plain pins symmetrical

When I look at the edge, I see a line
Is there a secondary edge bevel ?

Thanks for the feedback! I've been struggling pin placement but have been making incremental improvements and the 2x next knives in the works but the root of the issue is selecting a pin that is too large putting all of the pins in to the bolster before assembling the handle. As soon as I put in the mosaic pin that I use to help retain the blade my eye automatically draws a line between that pin and those in the bolster. As you will see some are slightly off in alignment :grumpy: So on the next knife I will modify the steps in the process to try and address this.

As for the blade, yes there is a secondary bevel. The blade-smith who made the blade (Maihkel Eklund) puts secondary bevels on all of his blades.

As for the handle. I originally wanted to thin the profile down but I was worried about getting too close to the pins. So I decided to go a bit chubby on this one lol. Still feels good in the hand though!
